OUR HANDMADE GLASS PRODUCTS

How long do handmade glass lamps last?

Our hand blown glass lamps from Malta are made by local glass-making experts, so they will last a lifetime. For this reason, they could easily be seen as a handcrafted family heirloom to be passed down — illuminating the homes of future generations!

How many types of Valletta Glass hand-blown glass lights are there?

Several types of hand blown glass lights are made in Malta by our experts at Valletta Glass — each one as charming as the next, with the ability to add colour and a cosy glow to any room. The types of handmade glass lights are as follows:

  • Globe lamps —  come in several different colours and designs, from colour rings and yellow details of “Saturn” to the striking hues of “green pearl”, but every one of Valletta Glass’ handmade globe lamps glows and brightens a room beautifully. They also come in mini globe light form.
  • Hanging glass pendant lights — ready to add a splash of unique design to your home or office? Our range of handmade glass hanging pendant lights can do just that. Available in various colours, these lights are sure to become a beloved addition to any indoor space. These are available in round glass pendant lights and can be custom-made, too!
  • House lamps — these charming glass house lamps are expertly crafted into the shape of a house. They come in two sizes and various colours.
  • Teardrop glass lamp — made into the striking shape of a teardrop, and finished in classic Valletta Glass colours and patterns, our glass teardrop lamps are the perfect finishing touch for any room or office.

How strong is Valletta Glass’ handmade glass jewellery?

The hand blown glass jewellery made in our Malta workshop is all highly durable. Glass alone can be brittle. Still, by adding certain elements to create coloured glass, along with various glass-blowing techniques, glass can be made incredibly strong. This is why glass has been used in jewellery since ancient times — it’s such a hardy material that you can often find glass jewellery in museums showing artefacts from ancient Greece, Rome and beyond!

Here at Valletta Glass, we love to continue the glass-making tradition — and wearing a piece of our glass jewellery is one way to contribute to saving this historic process.

Are the handmade glass bowls and mugs functional?

Yes, all of our glass bowls and mugs can be used and are functional — but be sure to hand wash them to ensure they stay as pristine as the day you bought them.

As well as being passionate about continuing traditional glass-blowing techniques in Malta, Valletta Glass loves to offer help wherever we can to ensure you receive your perfect piece of handmade glass art. Contact us with any questions or queries, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
